On Wednesday, after saying that he was planning to dismantle the White House coronavirus task force around Memorial Day, Trump reversed course and said that he would keep the task force going. Why? Because it is “popular” – Americans feel safer hearing from experts like Dr. Fauci and Dr. Brix. Of course, Trump is constantly lying about the situation and offering his own medical advice like advocating untested drugs and suggesting bleach and sunlight might be the cure no one had thought of.

In fact, the Trump administration is doing what it wants, moving forward towards “opening the economy” for the profits of the banks and corporations, not for our health. Whether or not the coronavirus task force is there for window dressing, the fact is that the politicians running the show totally oppose our interests on all levels.
