On Thursday, April 23, during the White House briefing on COVID-19, the acting undersecretary for science and technology at the Department of Homeland Security reported on data from tests showing that bleach and alcohol could kill the coronavirus on surfaces. Trump, the Loose-Cannon-in-Chief, commented, “I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets inside the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”
Is he kidding? The makers of Lysol and others immediately said that putting disinfectants like bleach inside the body could kill you, which most people understand. But apparently not Trump, the Loose-Cannon-in-Chief. The next day he said he was being sarcastic.
This is the same “leader” who has practically dismantled the Environmental Protection Agency, risking the lives of all Americans and possibly the rest of life as we know it in the world. Yet we have a political system that keeps us from removing a maniac from the most powerful office.
