Recently the official White House social media accounts posted an AI-generated image of Donald Trump wearing a crown with the text: “Long Live the King.” Many people understandably questioned if this really happened – it did and the images are still up today! It’s 2025 and it feels like we’re back in feudal times!
This fake Time magazine cover helps expose the real aim of the Trump administration: to further concentrate power in the hands of the wealthy few. With stunts like this, it seems they can get away with doing anything and we have no choice but to sit back and accept it. But this is far from the truth, and we know there’s a long history of people successfully overthrowing kings and other tyrants in pursuit of justice. As author Ursula K. Le Guin put it:
“We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings.”
This is our world and our future belongs to us, not to self-proclaimed kings! Long Live the Workers of the World!
