Free the Activists of the Freedom Flotillas! Stop the Genocide and Occupation of Palestine!

May 21, 2026 statement by the New Anticapitalist Party-Revolutionaries (NPA-R) in France, translated from French.

Images of the Interior Minister seeking to humiliate the flotilla activists arrested off the coast of Cyprus have been seen around the world. They only serve to expose the hideous face of the Israeli state, founded on the colonization of the Palestinians and apartheid.

The sense of impunity among Israeli leaders is such that they felt free to carry out this kidnapping in territorial waters outside their jurisdiction. What hypocrisy on the part of [French President] Macron, who summoned the Israeli ambassador to offer a feeble protest—he whose hands are stained with blood through his complicity in a crime against humanity that continues to this day.

Anyone with even a shred of humanity can only react with disgust and outrage to the treatment inflicted on these activists, among whom is a comrade from our sister organization in Greece, OKDE-Spartakos. The humiliations they endure, unacceptable as they are, are nevertheless only a muted reflection of the extreme violence suffered by the Palestinians—violence to which the hundreds of thousands of young people and workers mobilizing for Palestine on every continent will never grow accustomed.

We join the voices of all those demanding their release, and we will not cease to fight against the genocide of Palestinians and for an end to the occupation and colonization.

Following receipt of the above, Speak Out Socialists also received the following:

Global Sumud Spain on Instagram: “Activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla arriving at Istanbul airport after pressure on the genocidal government of Israel and its minister have forced them to release our comrades from their kidnapping. Pressure has been the key, without you we would not have achieved it we have to remain united and continue to pressure, boycotting, for all those people who are still unjustly imprisoned and those who continue to be killed in Palestine.”
