Many people are wondering what they can do to oppose what is going on in Washington, D.C. There are small actions across the country. People are demonstrating against ICE terrorizing and arresting people, and against cuts to Federal agencies, and at Tesla dealers to oppose Musk’s destructive activities.
On February 28, there is a call for an “Economic Blackout”, to not shop that day – especially online. The idea is to put a dent in the economy.

That is one thing we can do – as consumers. But, as producers we can have an even greater impact. Organizing that would take time, effort and confidence. It is possible. On May Day, 2006, people organized “A Day Without an Immigrant”. Millions of people marched or stayed home from work.
It may seem out of reach at the moment. But we shouldn’t allow our hopes and imaginations to be crushed by the confusion created in Washington.
