TOD or POD?

The following is reprinted from Speak Out Now’s workplace newsletter at Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)

BART is busily handing over valuable properties to developers to build expensive apartments. They call it TOD (Transit Oriented Development). They are getting ready at Ashby, North Berkeley, Walnut Creek, Millbrae and more. BART has 13 completed projects, four under construction, and seven projects that have been approved. How about paying attention to the “T” in TOD, that is Transit, and focus on maintaining the BART system? Or is this really POD? Profit Oriented Development for the developers and all those involved?
