Billionaires Disconnected From Our Reality

Billionaire capitalist Elon Musk is one of the big businessmen going all in for Trump. He’s actively spreading lies and hatred on the social media outlet he owns, he’s sending his top advisors to Pennsylvania to help the Trump campaign, and he’s spending huge amounts of money (perhaps as much as $180 million) to finance America PAC, a pro-Trump political organization.

Although working people struggle daily to pay rent, mortgages, childcare costs, health care costs, car payments, transit fares and more, Elon Musk isn’t concerned about that. He’s concerned with getting to Mars. He said in a recent post on X that, “Unless Trump wins and we get rid of the mountain of smothering regulations (that have nothing to do with safety!), humanity will never reach Mars…This is existential.” And he’s not the only billionaire who thinks getting to Mars is more important than human needs.

Billionaire capitalists are completely disconnected from our concerns and our needs. They live in a world insulated by their wealth and power. We shouldn’t listen when they tell us what’s good for us, and we definitely shouldn’t vote for the politicians they support.

More important, we just have to get rid of them. We cannot allow them (a few tens of thousands of capitalists worldwide) to continue set the priorities for all of humanity and our planet. They have led us into crises over and over again and will continue to do so. All so that they can have the giant ego boost of founding the first colony on Mars, from which they also expect to gain a massive profit.
