As the U.S. continues to provide full support for Israel’s genocidal attack on Palestinians, protests have continued around the United States, and at major speaking events of President Biden and other members of the Democratic Party, calling out the Democrats for their complicity in this atrocity. Recently, in response to protests calling for an immediate ceasefire, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that calling for a ceasefire is just “Mr. Putin’s message,” and that members of these groups should be investigated because she thinks “some … are connected to Russia.” And back in October, Pelosi told protesters outside her house to “Go back to China!”

Pelosi is grasping at straws in order to demonize and discourage protest against the U.S.-backed Israeli massacre of Palestinians. Tens of millions of people in this country and around the world have poured into the streets to express their outrage at Israel not because they are secret agents of Putin or the Chinese regime, but simply because they are opposed to Israel’s genocidal decimation of Palestinians, which has killed over 27,000 people.

Pelosi and the Democrats have no words to justify their support for this horrific slaughter of Palestinian life, and with every day that the bombings continue, support for the Democratic Party continues to wane. So, with no defense of their position, the Democrats are turning to desperate measures in order to try to demonize dissent, making up whatever lies they find useful. The Democrats like to posture as if they support protest and democratic opposition to their policies. They paint the Republicans as the only party that tries to criminalize dissent. But with Pelosi, we see the truth: it doesn’t matter which party is in power, they will both resort to criminalizing and demonizing protesters against their policies.
