This system throws people away and blames them in the process. It forces people to survive out of their cars in droves, scraping together pennies working back breaking jobs until they die. And the film Nomadland tells some of their stories.

The disaster in Texas is just another reminder of what’s in store for us if we continue to leave our future in the hands of those who run a system guided by the drive for profits, regardless of the impact. Our future depends on our determination to come together and fight against this system – to fight for a world that represents all of our interests.

The pressures of this period are building across the U.S. and around the world. But the capitalist system that is responsible for the crisis remains. This virus has united us in many ways. It has given us a picture of the future capitalism holds out to us. And it isn’t a future that we can accept.
