Facing the Climate Crisis (Saturday, December 5th, 2015)

Date:

Saturday, December 5th, 2015 (Oakland, CA)

The environmental crisis created by this system of production is so overwhelming that it can seem we only have the choice to deny or ignore what is happening or accept a fatalistic view that we are doomed. There are other options – first to organize our forces to put a stop to this wanton destruction of the planet and take the steps to reorganize human society to sustain life. Dr. Miguel A. Altieri and Dr. Clara Inés Nicholls, both currently teaching and conducting research at UC Berkeley, have been studying the challenges involved in food production in environments undergoing the stresses of climate change. They are among the leading activists and researchers in the field of agroecology. Come to a discussion about organizing to bring a sustainable world into being out of the chaos of capitalism.
